Gothic strike number 9602.
ref. 1575
Our artist was asked to create a futuristic Gothic design and produced this.
Our clockmaker added traditional style dial and a full strike train with one at the half hour. We are quite pleased with the result which was housed under a ‘square’ Victorian shade with its original base.

3. Petite Arabesque No.9902
ref. 1574
A delicate clock of small and pleasing proportions.
The design of this clock is based on an example by Evans of Handsworth c-1850.
Our example is made much smaller- with a height of only 240mm, excluding base and dome. The fine ebony pendulum rod was made to complement the ebonized base which, along with the dome is Victorian. The wheel work for this clock is traditional four spoke work and a simple anchor escapement is employed.

5. Miniature timepiece No.9802
ref. 1579
Designed by our artist and executed by our clockmaker. This miniature timepiece is only 185mm tall (excluding base & dome). To keep the front ‘clean’ the winding and barrel set up are located on the rear. The skeletonised and silvered platform is an old ‘Elliot’. It has eight day duration.
Because of its small size this clock required a little more skill in planting the train.
SOLD
Dimensions: 270mm including base and dome.

A Jewelled Foliate clock with passing strike.
ref. 1584
This clock was to be a miniature of a very successful clock which was quite large and of one month duration, also showing the day of the month on the dial. This is only of 8-day duration but to enhance it the front plate was inlaid with some 400 cubic zircon stones. The dial was studded with rubies.
It is now in the possession of an oriental film personality.

An 8-Day table clock with day and date number 9404
ref. 1582
This clock was the design of our clockmaker and was made for our artist. The original of this design was a much earlier commission. In fact, while this was being delivered to the customer at the clock fair, another couple commissioned the next one, which was to be of a similar design It shows the day of the week and the day of the month with a passing strike. To take the weight and friction of the centre arbour – it sits on a large ruby endstone. The escapement is slung beneath the top plate and is English lever platform.

Full striking clock in the style of a Mosque
ref. 1581
This is another very early example of Peter’s own designs. Based on a mosque – it utilised a massive striking movement which came from a gallery clock. The bell is, of course, the dome and is some 7 inches in diameter. Made in the mid 1980’s and, as with all first series clocks, not numbered

Millennium Clock
ref. 1570
Presenting our clock to commemorate the new millennium.
This clock is a combination of the many skills of our team and also a piece of the past.
The Eight tune music box in the base is an old movement we found in a distressed condition. This was totally rebuilt with the damaged bells being replaced, retuned and the hammer array tails remodelled. The frame and music box case was a particularly demanding challenge, created by our artist, as an exercise in piercing. The clock strikes the full hours and plays a tune after the strike is finished. There is a choice of two bells. The original bell was glass but we decided to provide a traditional bell as an alternative.
This clock is now in the hands of a serious collector. To veiw more detailed pictures of this clock and to view the new owners magnificent collection click here

Month Going Timepiece No.9501
ref. 1572
Peter was commissioned to make a timepiece which was to be presented to the Royal College of Anaesthetists. The design was not specified but should be appropriate for the occasion.
The end result was a clock of one month duration and of rafter construction. For accuracy it was fitted with dead beat escapement and controlled by a pendulum of kingwood. To protect the delicate escapement during winding – maintaining power was fitted. The great feature decided upon was wheels with spiral crossings. We believe that this is the first clock ever to be produced with such wheels.
The clock has pride of place at the college.

Table regulator of One Year duration.
ref. 1571
One of our clockmakers earlier creations – This timepiece stands 50cm high (without the dome) and is on a paduke base. The wheelwork is extremely fine, as is the dead beat escapement, so that the power source can be kept to a surprisingly light mainspring. To test the efficiency we ran this clock for a few days with single impulse. i.e. the crutch pin was placed to one side of the pendulum so impulse was only given on one side of the swing.
The serial number of this rare piece is 9305. Only one was made.

Dimensions: 6ocm including dome.
